Friday!

I'm not really sure how this big denim bum represents the freedom of the weekend, but I like the picture so there you go :)

I hope you have an excellent weekend - if I have it my way, I shall be spending the next couple of days shopping and drinking white russians. its payday today you see ;)
I'm sure on monday morning I will be crying at my desk, trying to think of a way to tell my family they will not be getting any Christmas presents this year because I spent all my money in topshop and cocktail bars. EEK!

Last Exit to Brooklyn

Today I have been pillaging the pages of Russh magazine via tFS (as ive mentioned before- I have only recently come across Russh, clearly having been living in a cave for the past couple of years). I love the styling in these shots, especially the first image. Denim shirt + denim shorts + trench coat = masculine sexy, and not at all 'seventies pervert' like you might expect...

Tux

Recently I have really been liking the idea of tuxedos for girls. I rhink there is something very sexy about a pintucked white shirt, bow tie and some tight skinny trousers. I think Lily Donaldson for Hermes AW07 displays this perfectly!

Bookish

What are you reading right now?
I have two books on the go currently: 'The Men who Stare at Goats' by Jon Ronson (its about the US army trying to employ psychic and supernatural tactics after Vietman, its quite funny) and 'The Paranoid Style in American Politics' by Richard Hofstadter, which is about political paranoia and conspiracy. If i'm a bit down I always feel so much better for having read a good book :)

Miss Blue Sky

I hate monday mornings! Today is made nicer however by the fact that I have been tagged by the lovely Decadency Royal and Agnes at Dream and Fantasy to list 6 unimportant things that make me happy...so here goes...

1. Dreaming of winning the lottery and being able to wear haure couture to my local shop to get milk and the papers
2. Ebay - I am an addict!
3. Cupcakes. My local shop does great cherry and geranium ones
4. Music...my favourite bands currently are every time i die and gay for johnny depp
5. The feeling of waking up on a saturday morning and knowing you have nothing to do other than be lazy
6. Black clothes. For all occasions!

Summoning the Storm

I am a big fan of trashy 80s/90s t shirts and have just purchased the long sleeved version of this badboy from a US website called Equine Addicts (haha). It's AMAZING! Word on the street is Martin Margiela ripped off the artist who designed this image (apparently it's quite famous?) but this one was a bargain at $17. I got it in a medium so its like a minidress.

'We Got It Bad'

It is only recently that I have discovered Russh through other bloggers' rave reviews (I have clearly been livng in a cave for the last couple of years!) and I am liking more and more of what I see. These are from a March ed - the styling has a kind of 'nineties mid-America mall' feel that I can really get on board with (its the pastel denim and the furry leopard print that does it for me!).

Daddy buy me a pony

One of my friends has been quite obsessed with 'equestrian-chic' recently and it's kind of rubbing off on me. I guess there are two avenues to take with this style: the English version of barbour jackets, stirrup pants, riding boots and a bow in your hair, or the American way - stonewash denim, cowboy boots, brown suede and tousled sun bleached hair. Yum yum to both.
